Last summer, several men in their early to mid-20′s were mugged in the Lincoln Park area. Five of the muggings are linked to each other and the other attacks are currently being investigated to see if they are linked as well.

The victim of the attack that occurred in the 2000 block of Cleveland Avenue on Aug. 1 identified an arrestee during a physical lineup. The suspect was eventually released due to lack of evidence.
As of March 31, no arrests have been made. Police are still investigating.
All of the victims were walking alone and were attacked on foot from behind by at least four attackers, all men in their 20′s. The attackers would ask the victims for their wallets and then beat them. Two of the victims from the Lincoln Park muggings were hospitalized.
